I started paperfolding at the end of 1994. Being a teacher of mathematics, I like logical puzzles, so soon I began to create my own designs. My models became cleaner and cleaner and made with less fold. This, however, does not mean that they were also easier to fold than the first ones. Most of my models achieved international success.
Some aim to catch only the essence of the object, while others are more realistic representations. Among the models, some require decent sculpturing to achieve the desired 3D shape.
I think the good origami models are born from a good idea. This is essential.
Moreover very important to me that my model should be:
- made of only one square of paper without cutting and sticking
- express the real characteristic of the animal (Most of my models are animal models.)
- have the least paper-wasting
- and as simple as it is possible, but not just one or two folds.
