Moire

One of my first attempts at folding tengu-jo shi, from 2012. Pleating without a reference results in a slightly irregular field of pleats. When folded over, the angled irregular intersections create layer patterns that result in optical effects. This is probably not an optical illusion in the strict sense, but to me it seems to fit the theme. I never tried folding this again.
