Frog

To me, last day of the year brings magic every time. 24 hours of jolly and calm awaiting for a countdown filled with good intentions and faith. In the afternoon, before evening supper, I was playing with a green paper square, looking for a simple but effettive model to make a frog. Starting from a preliminary fold, I realized to have created something new. This happens to be my first own design ever, the origami closing 2025 and meanwhile opening the 2026. Very glad it came to me, I take it as sign of luck and greeting.

The crease pattern I uploaded showing the base, all the remaining work is giving the frog its final expression: shape hind legs under the body, join the lower flaps where the vocal sac is, get eyes from the upper pockets, curve the back, and it's done. Truly hope you love it as I do!
