About Alessandro
Born in 1992 in Trento, Alessandro Beber first discovered Origami at age 4 as a pasttime, and began studying and practicing it more seriously since age 10, after meeting a group of local paperfolders and joining the Italian Origami society (CDO) and their conventions. Since then, he explored and studied the techniques and theories of Origami, its genres and its mathematics, and he designed a number of original artworks, both representational and abstract. In recent years he worked mostly on single-sheet origami tessellations, geometric periodic patterns inspired by Islamic and optical arts, publishing a booklet about his techniques in 2013 and a self-published book in 2017. He was invited as a special guest in France and Japan in 2014, in the USA in 2017 and in Poland and UK in 2018, to show, teach and lecture on his works, to teach on the mathematics of Origami in Italy, Germany and Spain. He exhibited his artworks in several international exhibitions and galleries in Italy, the USA, Japan, Spain, Israel and Taiwan, and he worked with some universities as lecturer and consultant for technological applications of origami (in IT, mathematics, robotics). Currently, he works on designing, exhibiting and selling his own artworks, designing origami projects on request, teaching workshops and lecturing about origami techniques and mathematics.
