Viviane Berty

Born in 1969, in the South of France, I am left-handed. I am a music and literature enthusiast. I was less interested in visual arts until 1990, when I discovered origami thanks to astronomer Jean-Pierre Brunet from Toulouse. For 20 years, I have folded only occasionally, and preferably attractive purely geometrical models by Kunihiko Kasahara, Román Díaz and Hideo Komatsu. I met Giang Dinh in 2011 in Toulouse, then Quyết Hoàng in 2013 in Dijon. They both taught me to enjoy the technique of wet-folding. I started to create my own models in 2012, in an attempt to represent living creatures as well as objects with a minimum of creases, more through intuition than observation.
