The hallmark of my artistic practice extends beyond the purely aesthetic; it is deeply rooted in a methodological rigour that transforms the art of paper-folding into a process of near-scientific inquiry. My work navigates the fine line between the mastery of complex geometries and a consistent philosophical reflection, finding in paper the ultimate medium to explore the tension between the finite and the infinite.
In recent times, this inquiry has transcended the physical object, evolving into a dedicated commitment to writing. I am currently deeply engaged in authoring texts that delve into the theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of origami, moving beyond mere instruction to articulate the conceptual architecture that informs the craft. Through these works, I aim to map the profound synergy between paper-folding and philosophical thought, translating the silent logic of the form into a rigorous intellectual framework.
Those who engage with my pieces encounter a process of meticulous synthesis: each fold is the result of a consolidated discipline, nurtured by a vision that bridges the legacy of traditional origami with the urgency of a contemporary visual language. My work is not an isolated exercise, but an intellectual practice aimed at decoding the structures of thought through matter. It offers resolutions that are, simultaneously, mathematical balance and poetic breath. To operate in this field is, for me, an act of assuming responsibility for a gesture that is precise, deliberate, and capable of conversing with space—inviting the observer to recognize, within the perfection of a created form, the profound complexity of the order that underlies our reality.
I am an origami instructor based in the city of Turin, Italy, with years of dedicated experience in the practice. My teaching covers all levels, guiding students through a complete spectrum that transitions from foundational figurative techniques to advanced conceptual projects. My approach transcends the mechanics of the fold, as I am committed to sharing a deep, genuine passion for the art of paper folding. I possess a good command of the English language and bring an extensive background and a consolidated artistic perspective to this field.
While my connection to paper folding dates back to my childhood, my formal journey as an origami practitioner began in 2006. Following an initial year of guidance from a mentor at the Centro Diffusione Origami in Italy, I continued my development as an autodidact. My expertise has been forged through years of rigorous experimentation, the study of specialized literature, and a relentless pursuit of refinement. I have learned to embrace the iterative process—valuing every fold and every discarded sheet as essential steps toward mastery. This path of independent discovery has allowed me to reach my current level of artistic and technical maturity.
Beyond my technical practice, I specialize in conducting ludic workshops for children under the age of six, utilizing origami as a vibrant pedagogical tool. Drawing on my extensive background in theatre, I weave paper folding into immersive storytelling experiences. By blending origami with performance, I create an engaging, interactive environment that captivates young minds and brings imaginative narratives to life.
Furthermore, I apply the art of origami within therapeutic contexts, working with the elderly, including those facing dementia or cognitive decline. In these sessions, origami serves as a powerful medium for cognitive stimulation and meaningful connection. By guiding participants through the folding process, I aim to create a space that reaches beyond their individual sense of isolation, helping them step out of their 'bubble' of solitude. Through these shared, tactile experiences, I foster a sense of presence and purpose, ensuring that every participant feels genuinely involved and valued.
