L'Elogio del Vuoto Attivo
The book takes the form of a hybrid work, an “initiatory journey of the soul” in which psychological autobiography and philosophical-geometric ascent converge through the ancient metaphor of authorial origami. It rejects the kind of Western popular narrative that reduces folding to a form of “quick-fix psychological therapy” or to a mere “metaphor for the scar,” instead treating the discipline as a rigorous meditation on cosmology, mathematics, and ontology.
The book is conceived as two mirrored sections: the first, a biographical account; the second, a speculative essay unfolding across twenty chapters, or speculative stations.
"The Praise of Active Void" is neither a book of models nor a photographic book, but an extensive research journey in which origami becomes a language for exploring the relationship between form and emptiness, limitation and freedom, geometry and consciousness. It moves across philosophy, psychology, neuroscience and mathematics, bringing the practice of folding into dialogue with deeper questions concerning perception, the mind, structure and possibility.
" What if what we are truly constructing through origami is not the form itself, but the emptiness that the form makes possible?"
This book is fully written and also translated into English, though it is not published yet. For now, I share its cover and synopsis here, hoping it will soon find its path in the publishing world.
If you are interested in publishing this book, I would be pleased to hear from you personally. Thank you for your interest.
