Folding obsessively since 2016, after a long gap.
It isn't enough, for me, to follow instructions in a diagram or fold along with a video. I am a creature of what-ifs. My approach to origami is flavored by what some call "hacker mentality." I enjoy finding better ways, or different ways, to do something. Or finding a way to do something that--as far as I know--hasn't been done. Much of the time I work from commonly used bases. I may simply modify an existing model, or re-invent some wheel from scratch.
I love simplicity and directness. Although I seldom use a scissors, I make frequent use of Occam's Razor. Eliminating excess folds in an existing model, whether to make the folding path easier or to improve appearance, is a common goal. So far, my inventions and variations are approachable; anyone with some folding experience should have little difficulty with them.
