3D Origami
The last few years have seen an unstoppable advance of new 3D-related technologies that are transforming entire advertising, marketing, or manufacturing industries. Origami has not remained unaware of this tsunami, and although timidly still, examples of origami brought to the 3D world can already be found. This article is a review of some of these techniques with special emphasis on their application to origami. To illustrate them we have used free software tools, mostly open source. The references can be found at the end of the article. At the time of writing this article, all of them are quite popular.
