The conventional design process is first fold a base with the sufficient number of appendages for the model and then fold to form the model to its final stage. For this model, a base is first folded without any appendages and with this as a reference, continue with 3D and flat folds to form a representatiion of the final model. Locking folds are applied to keep the model in place.
