Red tape, red flag, seeing red, painting the town red. What does it mean to represent the color red? Often, we associate the color red with intense emotion or a warning. Other times, we think of flowers, birds, or hearts. The Lawrence Arts Center invites artists to submit artwork that relates to the subject/color “red.” The subject/color “red” is open to the artist’s interpretation.

• Works must be no larger than 24 inches in any direction, including finished and/or framed works.
• AI artwork is not permissible.
• This call for entries encourages both established and emerging artists to submit.
• Submissions are open to any medium in the stated size parameters.
• Artwork chosen to be exhibited is not required to be for sale.
