Bend-a-Ball

Jorge Pardo's Flexiball is a classic example of action modular origami (https://bermarez.com/papiro/54_flexiball_de_jorge_pardo.html). However, it can be hard to make a good working model as the lock is difficult (it’s like trying to close a door from the inside while leaving a room).

Bend-a-Ball is easier to fold as it only uses valley and mountain folds. The lock is simple to make and unlike most modular origami, it’s always the same ease of assembly from start to finish as the modules can be squeezed into a convenient arrangement for assembly.

The lock is easy to undo in case of mistakes and when reusing modules, e.g. experimenting with different or larger assemblies.
