This design is completely freefolded. It actually started out as a half-finished base (and an unsuccessful attempt) of Kei Morisue's Tie Interceptor before I unfolded everything and tried to make my own design, instead of making merely an "interpretation" of it. Wings became arms and legs, what was supposed to be a tessellation turned into an organic, crumpled alien head, and I used the duo paper to create color changes on the rest of the body. The result is an alien fighter in a mech suit, wearing a tie. Hence the name, "Tie Fighter" :) I’m satisfied with how it turned out—a sci-fi blend of organic and mechanical.
