Taking into account the realistic-abstract axis, the nominator decided to include the present work in the second half. Some abstract works have no referent. Others might have one, but they portray them in a rather indirect manner. The following work by Guarachi is his representation of an important mountain in Bolivia, which is far from being direct and realistic.
July 9th, is celebrated as the day of the snow capped mountain Illimani, an icon of the city of La Paz. At the Franz Tamayo cultural center, several artists were invited to portray this peak from their point of view. Guarachi could not ignore such an opportunity.
