This model uses the spring joint mechanism, a fold based on Jeff Beynon's Spring Into Action that I have developed, and takes it to the extreme. As a spring joint fold gets more intricate, it becomes closer to a round form. This model uses intricate folds to approach that continuous shape. It alternates spring joints to create a kinetic model that is both geometric and organic. It is folded from a 3x4 rectangle of elephant hide paper with a 8x96 grid.
