HANDWERKSMUSEUM DEGGENDORF CRAFT AND DESIGN COMPETITION
RETHINKING HEADGEAR (GERMANY)
The Handwerksmuseum Deggendorf (Museum of Crafts) is excited to announce its 10th triennial competition for handicraft and design in 2025, themed "Rethinking Headgear." This competition invites professional craftsmen, designers, apprentices, and students to creatively reimagine headgear in diverse forms, sizes, materials, and artistic techniques.
Participants may submit up to three original, self-designed pieces, which can range from decorative hats to protective helmets, using materials such as textiles, wood, ceramic, metal, and glass. The competition offers a prize of €3,000, and only works that have not previously won awards are eligible.
Selected entries will be showcased in a special exhibition at the Handwerksmuseum from March 30 to June 15, 2025, with the prize ceremony taking place on March 29, 2025, during the exhibition opening. A catalogue documenting the competition entries will be published to accompany the exhibition.
