Advent of Tessellations 2024
Origami tessellations are different from most other types of origami because they can repeat infinitely, so there’s no fixed amount of pattern that forms a model.
In Advent of Tessellations I’ll teach a series of 25 origami tessellation patterns at a small scale in video tutorials that are released daily from Dec. 1-25, progressing from easier to harder patterns over the course of the challenge.
You can sign up for the challenge for free at training.gatheringfolds.com/advent to get daily email reminders and crease pattern PDFs when the videos are released!
This will be my third year running this challenge, and each year has a distinct set of patterns.
The patterns this year focus on hybrid hexagon twists - a particularly fruitful source of new patterns that can create more organic-looking designs than conventional geometric tessellation patterns while remaining foldable directly from the grid.
