Much of my earlier work was more complex, even I had to make decisions with how to spend my origami time. A huge part that continues to inspire me is that people do like my books, and I like to think I am offering something that never existed, even if they don’t fit all these categories. One part that I honed into was: to make my work accessible to the mainstream folder with an emphasis on the folding process and form of simplicity within complexity. (I hope, especially, the giraffe is a good example of that.)
