This design demonstrates several techniques that further push the field of axial hex pleating. First, it uses ridge squashes to create horizontal pleats, then complex level shifter structures to create the vertical pleats, which together combine to form scales all over the body and legs. Such a structure creates textures more efficiently than conventional box pleated scales. This design then utilizes careful distortions in the scale pleats to structurally form the 3d curvature of the body.
