MUSEO DEL ORIGAMI

The museum is located in Colonia del Sacramento, a World Heritage Site by Unesco located in Uruguay. It is one hour away by ferry from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and three hours by car from Montevideo, de capital city of Uruguay. 

Since 2022 the museum belongs to the National System of Museums and Museographic Collections of Uruguay. 

It is considered the only museum of paperfolding in the American continent and one of the two in the Western World. 

The museum has a permanent exhibition about the history of paperfolding, and permanent and temporary exhibitions of high-end origami artwork by international artists. The museum gives lectures, courses, and workshops and manages a small gift shop next to the museum entrance. It welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world as Colonia six days a week. 

The museum is also open on other hours for courses and workshops.
