About Matheus
Matheus Mephysto is the artistic name of Matheus da Silva Muniz, born on September 4, 1996, one of the main artists and theorists of Origami Art in Brazil, known for folding complex and elegant models, mainly of insects and animals.

Matheus discovered Origami Art at the age of eight through a blog. In his early teens, he was already studying new techniques and more complex models. Initially, Matheus found Origami Art to be a way to escape from everyday life and sought the benefits that the practice brings, such as stress relief, discipline, patience, memory and logical reasoning. While immersing himself in the world of Origami Art, Matheus received an invitation to join the ORIGADORES Group, a high-level Brazilian origami group.

In search of improvement, he searched for articles on the mathematics behind origami. Having only completed high school in his academic background, he decided that experimental practice was his best option to create his first origami pieces.

Today, at 28 years old, he studies Crease Pattern models applying 22.5° Box pleat techniques.

As a self-taught origami artist, Matheus uses his experience and dedicates his time to studying and creating his own designs to disseminate and encourage the ancient art of Origami in Brazil.
