This challenge was extended to cover October and November!
This challenge is giving away two 100 USD prizes!
Apparently, this crease pattern (attached) is a great starting point for many models that are easy to fold, and hence easy to teach. At least two creators are using it for teaching purposes: Vincent Floderer, who also produces pre-cut sheets of paper for teaching, and Cliff Landesman, who runs a parallel project, as shown on this site. Cliff is also our sponsor and will be the judge of this challenge. His vote will get 50% of the final score, while the visitors' votes will have the rest.
The rules are simple.
The starting point must be a grid of 8, plus the diagonals (see attached CP).
You must submit diagrams and/or a video tutorial.
You must agree to share this model for any non-profit teaching activities.
Old models are valid as well.
Please note that a teachable model will get bonus points!
The model in the picture was designed by Ilan Garibi and was made using the grid!
