Twists on boxes (Tessellatiosn and more 3)
The third book in the “Tessellations and more” series explores the tessellation designs of the previous books and new ones, but giving it a different shape: boxes with a tessellation on the lid.
The book begins by reviewing the basics of tessellations for those folders who do not have the previous books.
Following are step by step instructions for 25 self-designed boxes, which use a molecule on the lid. Along with the instructions for folding the boxes and photos of the finished models, photos of other designs (brooches) are included, which are folded using the same box design.
In each model you can see the final drawing of the box made by hand by Felipe Moreno. And several models include some special steps drawn by him as well.
A chapter is included with references to the previous books, where photos of boxes based on the models of said books are shown.
At the end, several appendices are included with a small Spanish/English dictionary of origami terms, the guide to symbols used in the book, and several references related to tessellations.
El tercer libro de la serie “Teselados y algo más” explora los diseños de teselados de los libros anteriores y otros nuevos, pero dándole una forma diferente: cajas con un teselado en la tapa.
El libro comienza repasando los conceptos básicos de los teselados para aquellos plegadores que no tengan los libros anteriores.
A continuación, se muestran las instrucciones paso a paso de plegado de 25 cajas de diseño propio, que usan una molécula en la tapa. Junto con las instrucciones para el plegado de las cajas y las fotos de los modelos terminados, se incluyen fotos de otros diseños (broches), que se pliegan usando el mismo diseño de la caja.
En cada modelo puede observarse el dibujo final de la caja hecho a mano por Felipe Moreno. Y en algunos modelos se incluyen algunos pasos especiales dibujados también por él.
Se incluye a continuación un capítulo con referencias a los libros anteriores, donde se muestran fotos de cajas basadas en los modelos de dichos libros.
Al final se incluyen varios apéndices con un pequeño diccionario español/inglés de términos de origami, la guía de símbolos usados en el libro, y varias referencias relacionadas con los teselados.
