Tessellation Academy: Volume 2

Tessellation Academy, my monthly membership, teaches how to fold a variety of origami tessellation patterns with a new topic every month.

Members receive a PDF download introducing the topic of the month with tiling diagrams and eight crease patterns that fit the topic along with two video tutorials and a live theory and design workshop every month.

The Tessellation Academy: Volume 2 ebook compiles the PDF downloads from months 13-24 of Tessellation Academy, including over a dozen downloadable tiling diagrams, tiling animations showing stopping points while folding, and tree diagrams showing what choices are made during the design process and what areas are still unexplored.

The topics included in this ebook are hybrid square twists, the Hexagons and Triangles 6-fold tiling symmetry extension 2, mixed-depth rhombus twists, the Hexagons and Triangles 3-fold tiling, extended tilings with right triangle and square twists, tiling options that start with a hexagon-triangle-hexagon sequence, tiling options that start with a hexagon-triangle-rhombus sequence, tiling options that start with a hexagon-triangle-trapezoid sequence, Square tiling symmetry extensions, hybrid hexagon twists, mixed-depth hexagon twists, and clusters of four triangle twists.

There are 96 origami tessellation crease patterns included in this ebook, each of which has a cover page with photos of the front and back of the folded pattern and information about the pattern, including tiling, twists used, designer, and fraction for rotated grid alignment, a page with the crease pattern drawn on 64 grid divisions, and a page with the crease pattern annotated with the centers of twists and how they're connected by pleats.

These crease patterns are somewhat overlapping with the patterns included in the Advent of Tess ebooks, with three topics covering folding styles that are excluded from the Advent of Tess series.
