Cutleaf Toothwort

This model incorporates the technique of boxpleating and is very efficient, each flower ony taking up 10x10 units. With this incredibly small grid size each flower takes, this allows the artist to tile multiple flowers in one piece of paper. This particular model was created by using one uncut piece of paper with one side of the paper beind white and the other being green. This paper allows the flower to shine and truly show it's beauty through a natural color change. For all of the stamen (tiny needles that stick out from a flower's center), I adpated the base of Robert J. Lang's famous Cactus's needles and changed the stucture to look more 3D and clear. I believe that this model is worthy of the technical award due to the combination of multiple techniques that help create a simple and efficient box pleat for each flower, which produces a delicate and basic flower while not compromising on realism.
