Squirrel

This squirrel design by Nicolas TERRY was originally a cartoon-style creation. For me, I prefer a realistic aesthetic, so I altered the paper of the head while folding to craft a more lifelike face with two-toned cheeks and added detailed eye features. I also revised the body and tail for a cohesive overall style: pulling out the inner paper layers to close the abdomen, enlarging the hind legs, and reshaping the tail to match the pose. The final finished squirrel stands on a branch in a dynamically balanced posture, seemingly coming to life.
