Dreamlike Ephemera

Dreamlike Ephemera is an origami study based on a dual-level recursive structural system.

At the global scale, the overall form consists of a sequence of inwardly shrinking dodecagonal units, establishing a clear primary recursion hierarchy.
At the same time, within the transitional regions between adjacent dodecagons, the structure independently generates secondary dodecagonal recursive units that propagate inward following a recursion rule distinct from that of the primary structure.

As a result, this work does not rely on a single repeated recursive mechanism. Instead, it is constructed from two nested but structurally different recursive systems, forming a rare example of dual-level recursion in origami design.

This configuration allows recursive behavior to emerge simultaneously at both the global form and the local transition regions, achieving a dense and hierarchically organized fractal geometry within a finite sheet of paper.
