Tessellation Iluka

This tessellation is based on a 124 grid and each 32 units molecule centers around an intricate star. It does not only use the hexagonal center of the molecule for design but also the triangular and rectangular spaces between the hexagonal centers. The coloring has been added to folded spaces and edges only. It creates structure for the eye even from a distance similarly like backlighting a tessellation. The difference is that the focus is not on the paper’s overlap but on the molecule’s detail from up close as well as the overall pattern from a far.
