Hyperlandscape19

My aim was to combine abstract geometric graphics with geometric folding in order to obtain a more lively abstract work with many different viewpoints and interaction with light. Hyperlandscape19 consists of 19 elements with each a unique graphical pattern. The graphical pattern was applied by hand with a marker. Each element was based on hyperbole folding starting with a hexagon. In order to make the folded result more expressive, I elongated two opposite sides of the hexagons. This had to be done in a very precise way, so that the folding angles along the diagonals remain symmetric. The elements have been assembled with small clamps and the installation fills a table of 150x100 cm. A picture hardly reveals the sculptural effects.
