Emergent Hexagons

Emergent Hexagons is made by triangle twists, folded one at a time from a background grid. As the rings of triangle twists accumulate, hexagons emerge from the backlighting. There is no requirement to go all the way to the edge of the paper, since each ring of twists ends without any pleat overlaps, at a natural tiling break. On top of all of these properties this tessellation is the same on the front and the back, which makes it perfect for displaying in a see-through frame in a window.
